🇪🇸 Desde 2017, con la dirección artística de Mikel Pagola Erviti, el concurso pirotécnico de San Fermín incorpora el concepto de 'fuegos de autor'.

Esta nueva filosofía persigue:

  1. Convocar a los participantes personalmente por su especificidad artística y no convocar ‘empresas’ como es habitual en otros concursos. Se les selecciona por su interés particular actual, trayectoria artística pasada, su contexto creativo, etc. Como la invitación es personal, el autor se compromete a realizar el diseño de disparo por él/ella mismo/a, de forma que sólo puede haber un único autor del diseño del disparo.
  2. Mejoras de producción en la organización del certamen para facilitar que se centren en su trabajo creativo y pirotécnico en Pamplona. Para este fin el Ayuntamiento de Pamplona ofrece estas mejoras de producción para los participantes.
  3. Promoción de la imaginación, audacia técnica y la extravagancia en los disparos pirotécnicos. Para impulsar eso se invita a trabajar a los participantes sobre dos conceptos mediante el cumplimiento de sendas realizaciones artísticas obligatorias.

Desde 2023 las dos pruebas se harán seguidas una de la otra, al comienzo del espectáculo, sin nada intermedio entre ellas.

🇬🇧 From 2017, under the artistic direction of Mikel Pagola Erviti, the fireworks competition of San Fermin incorporates the “fuegos de autor” in Spanish Languaje (his literal translation would be 'author fireworks') that means something like 'for fireworks display designers' contest concept. This new philosophy aims to:

  1. Summon the participants personally by their artistic specificity and not to call ‘companies’ as usual in other contests. We select them in order of his current particular interest, previous artistic career, his creative context. As this invitation is personal, the author commits to performing the design of the display by himself, so because that there can only be one author of the display’s design.
  2. Production improvements in the Organization of the event to ease that they focus on their creative and pyrotechnic work in Pamplona. For this reason, the City Council of Pamplona offers this improvements in the production works for all the competitors.
  3. Promotion of the imagination, technical audacity and the pyrotechnic extravaganza in the fireworks displays. To boost that, the designers are invited to work on two concepts through compliance with both mandatory artistic realizations.

Since 2023 both realizations must be done one after the other, at the begining of the show, with nothing between them.
